After some careful "due diligence" - probably more thorough than some of my daily diligence work at the firm - I figured that the world definitely needs another blog by some random VC (besides solutions to global warming and world hunger of course).
More seriously though, this blog is as much for public consumption as it is for myself. As someone who is learning everyday on the job, I needed a place - sort of a journal - where I could jot down my thoughts, express my opinions, and most importantly hear from others how completely off-base I am. A blog seems to be as good a place as any.
So, who am I? As the profile says, I consider myself an "early-stage" VC - someone who invests in early-stage companies as well as someone who is fairly new to the industry. Oddly enough (or is it?), I am located on the east coast, in the Philadelphia region to be precise. I am passionate about technology - any technology for that matter - and I spend most of my time working on deals in infrastructure software, semis, mobile, etc. Of late, I have also been working on investments in healthcare IT or health 2.0 as some like to refer to it, and I believe I have a fairly good understanding of cloud computing having started a company in that space. I truly believe that an early-stage investor is most effective when focused on a sector or two, but that is harder given the wide range of deals that my firm sees. In any case, I plan to continue building my expertise in mobile and health 2.0 because I strongly believe there is a lot of action waiting to happen in those two areas.
Finally a disclaimer that my lawyer (okay, the lawyer in me because I really can't afford a real one) forced me to put here: "the views expressed in this blog are solely mine and in no way, I repeat in no way, reflect those of the firm I work for."
